When Should You See A Dating Coach?

Updated: Sep 30

When we think about dating advice or advice for singles in general, various things come to mind, typically related to dating do's and don’ts; a list of things to say and not to say on the first date; wardrobe and profile photo advice etc.

These are all essential components of dating; however, they only represent the superficial practical tactics. Our dating advice for singles is not limited to the actual dating part: it covers the complete process of self-discovery and working out what your ideal partner is like, letting go of emotional baggage, identifying your key life values and dealing with rejection amongst many other things. If you want to be successful at dating, this is where you really need to start before you pick which outfit to wear and practise what to say.

Rush into dating with the wrong state of mind – and you’re likely to become very frustrated very quickly and probably feel like giving up on love…

So, who needs a dating coach?

If you really want to do it right this time around, the best approach is to get personalised advice tailored to your situation.

Scenario 1: you're separated, divorced, or out of a long-term relationship. Whether it was a welcome change or a shock, you must be experiencing a mixture of emotions ranging from grief and hate to excitement. This is when your dating and relationship consultant will work with you to determine the weight of your emotional baggage and offer various strategies to help you leave it behind and move on. Don’t underestimate the effect these unresolved issues have on your present and future.

Scenario 2: you're a single parent, you had your fingers burned in the past, you're juggling work, family and a rather tense relationship with your ex, the co-parent. You’re ready to start dating and find love but terrified of upsetting the fragile balance and have no idea how to approach dating... Children bring very different dynamics into your potential dating life. Should you only date other parents because they can empathise, or should you date non-parents because they’re free? There’s no right or wrong, let’s discover what works for your family.

Scenario 3: you might be struggling with insecurities and/or low self-esteem due to certain underlying challenges. You want to find love and have an amazing partner by your side, but the idea of dating is too dauting; or perhaps, you’ve already tried dating and can’t help feeling you don’t fit in and you’re sick to death of rejection. There’s so much we can do to improve your confidence and bring out the best version of you - not for anyone’s sake but your own as you become a happier person in the process.

Every scenario comes with its own complexities, and these are just a few examples of when you should hire a dating / relationship coach to minimise stress and increase your chances of success. You can see that “one-size-fits-all” advice for singles may not cover your unique situation after all.

Relationship Coach for men and women

However, I have great news! No matter how unsettled or disillusioned you may be feeling at this moment, you can be certain you’re not alone. I can help you transform your love life and discover a roadmap to a happy healthy relationship which for once, feels natural and not like walking on eggshells or pulling teeth. Don't buy into old myths: love doesn't have to hurt!

We turn to career advisors when looking for a new job, attend parenting classes, hire business, fitness and life coaches, however, quite often very little or no thought goes into choosing the right life partner despite the criticality of this decision for your future (and possibly that of your children).
